Set up your recurve bow with a black GAS recurve bow string made with BCY 8125 material. Select the AMO length that matches your bow: 66 inches, 68 inches, or 70 inches. Check your bow’s size marking and string requirements before ordering.

GAS recurve bow string with BCY 8125

This recurve bowstring is offered in black and is identified with BCY 8125 string material. The variable options make it easy to select the listed length for your setup. Each length is managed as a separate variation with its own Suhag Archery SKU.

Available AMO length options

The listed lengths are AMO lengths. The size guidance for this string says to choose the option matching the bow size; for example, a 68-inch bow uses the 68-inch option. If your bow has a different marking or you are unsure which string it requires, check the bow maker’s manual or consult a qualified string maker.

Compatibility and fit

Correct fit depends on more than length. The string configuration is described for .088-inch or .098-inch nock grooves when paired with the appropriate strand count and serving diameter. Confirm that the loops, centre serving, strand count, and nock fit are suitable for your exact recurve bow before installing the string.

Do not choose a bowstring by comparing its loose length with the bow’s marked length. Use the bow maker’s stated string size and the AMO option shown here. When replacing a string, check brace height after installation and follow the bow maker’s setup instructions.

How to check a recurve bowstring

1. Read the size marking on the bow limbs or consult the bow’s manual.
2. Select the corresponding AMO length from the variation menu.
3. Before shooting, make sure both loops seat correctly and the serving holds the nock securely without pinching it.
4. Inspect the string, loops, and serving regularly. Stop using a string with frayed strands, damaged loops, or serving that has shifted.

Bowstring care

Keep the string clean and follow the bow maker’s care guidance. Apply string wax only as recommended for the string material, and avoid waxing the serving where it could affect nock fit. If you are unsure about string installation, brace height, or wear, have a qualified archery technician inspect the setup.
